People for Equal Parenting (PEP)
Restoring the Traditional American Family
A Call for Common Sense
"Your goal is legitimate and right and just. You need to demonstrate your clout to the politicians." . . . . . . Phyllis Schlafly, 12/11/05, on PEP-Talk radio

People for Equal Parenting, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to
restoring the Traditional American Family. This involves two
priorities: Reform of child custody laws when both parents are fit; and
Reform of No Fault Divorce Laws. We expect that four different groups will access this website
regularly.
I. Our
Opponents in Government and the Divorce Industry.
In the final
analysis our problem comes down to you. Government involvement in the
parent-child relationship of fit parents makes as much sense as doing brain
surgery with a chainsaw. In America government's first priority is to
protect innocent people from unwarranted government intrusion. In this
respect contemporary government fails. This doesn't make people
working for government bad people. But the old saying, "He who is good
with a hammer sees a world made of nails," certainly applies here.
So consider the red carpet rolled out for you.
Look around and learn about what we’re
doing. In the long run PEP believes that if you’re given the chance to
understand our complaints, many of you will come around. There’s historical
precedent for this. Not so long ago many governments opposed
ending Jim Crow laws. History proved them wrong, and they came around. We
expect the same thing to happen regarding today’s major civil rights issue:
Equal Parental Responsibility for fit parents.
II. Custodial
Parents.
You’re welcome too. PEP represents the true interests of children
in having equal access to your former spouse (provided he or she is a fit
parent who wants equal access). PEP also represents the rights of fit NCPs
to full Equal Parental Responsibility. This may not seem to fit your agenda ... yet. But in
the long run, you’ll benefit too. Our nation's unjust child custody
laws have produced unparalleled social costs to all of us. It is time
to face up to this squarely.
III.
Media.
Please feel free to look around
- familiarize yourself with Equal Parental Responsibility - the answer to
our nation's most costly social and human rights problem. If you’d like
official contact with PEP, please use the media button to the left.
A PEP official will respond quickly.
IV.
Noncustodial Parents.
Don't get over it. If you are a fit parent who simply wishes to
exercise Equal Parental Responsibility you are a member of the ever-growing,
largest class of citizens in American history to suffer legal and political
abuse. Government's answer? Either you are ignored or are told
to get therapy to deal with your "problems". If Martin Luther King
were alive today he would tell you that there is no psychological cure for
political problems. PEP is here to work for real solutions to the real
problems. So welcome home. We understand the problems you and your children
are having. We’re fixing those
problems. Check out the website.
